For Fingal Head we believe the way forward to achieve safety is as follows:
To achieve behavioural change, active enforcement of regulations and the ongoing visible presence of authorities is the appropriate mechanism. Speeding on Fingal Road, let alone any road in Fingal Head and incorrect parking on corners is a police enforcement role. Incorrect use of the old boat harbour, inappropriate camping, inappropriate use of the off/on-leash dog areas is a TSC ranger enforcement role. Checking boat licences, dealing with incorrect speeds that swamp the small sailing vessels and endanger those exiting the harbour entrance and drinking on the water is a marine enforcement role. Checking fishing licences and catches is a fisheries enforcement role. Everyone working together to achieve the desired safety outcome will result in the desired outcome for the area.

This issue has become markedly worse since recent changes to the Kennedy Drive Pascoe Park boat ramp making it virtually inaccessible to traffic coming from the M1. Unfortunately, the TSC has placed signage at the Kennedy Drive Pascoe Park boat ramp redirecting boating visitors to Fingal Head boat ramp despite the availability of other boat ramps.

Please refer to pages 16 to 18, of the presentation, which is an incredibly important message to share with our community.
